Religion and Misogyny

Welcome to the Misogyny and Religion Series!

In this series, we shall be looking at different religions and their scriptures, to see the impact that they have had on misogyny in the modern society. The three main religions that have been selected for this purpose are Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity.

Each of these will be analysed and discussed in detail, along with their teachings, their scriptures, and the ways these teachings are interpreted in.

So, let's jump in already. Just click on these links to read each one of the three articles.

The last and final article in the series focuses on Christianity and how the Catholic Church has always been oppressive towards women. It touches on the topics of consent and female subjugation, while quoting from the Bible.

So, after you have finished reading all the three articles, what is the key takeaway here?

The takeaway here is that people might be wrong, because people only see what they want to see. People only hear what they want to hear. No religion promotes misogyny in itself. It is the people who choose to misinterpret them and use them for their own selfish gains, and that is the ultimate problem. That is what we need to deal with.

Spread love, not hate!!
