It's still more than two weeks
left for the lockdown to end. Also, seeing the current scenario, there is a
hell-lot of chance that the lockdown will be extended. How would you pass your
time? How long are you gonna be wasting your time making failed attempts of
video-calling your friends and yelling into the screen: "aawaaz nahi
aa rahi hai yaar", "net bhot slow hai." and all that? Why
not waste your time in a more entertaining manner?
Well, I have got for you people, a list of some underrated Bollywood movies which I bet, you wouldn't have seen. Do leave a comment, telling us how many of these films you had already seen.

It's comedy-drama starring Irrfan Khan, Mithila
Palkar, and Dalquer Salmaan. It is a light-hearted film, about an
introverted guy named Avinash and his friend Shaukat who set off on a journey
from Bangaluru. Irrfan puts up a hilarious performance as Shaukat. Karwaan
might not be a thrilling adventure, but it would leave you with a warm and
happy feeling in the heart.

2.Tumbbad (2018)
Tumbbad might not be as horrifying as a horror
film should be. Yes, it’s not the horror that scars you with blood, ghosts or
vampires. It’s the horror that plays with your mind. A family driven by greed,
when attempts to build a temple, of Hastar, a god that must not be worshipped,
they get into some serious trouble. The film is packed with some amazing
performances.

3. An Insignificant Man
(2017)
This film is an artistic piece disguised as a
documentary. The filmmakers intended to cover the Janta Lokpal protests
movement and the rise of Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party in India, for which they crowdfunded the production. Initially, the
film was denied a theatrical release and was demanded to get Prime Minister,
Narendra Modi and Former Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dixit’s consent for the
release. But the producers denied producing any consents, arguing that it is
not the Censor’s job to safeguard politicians’ sentiments. The film hit
theatres in 2017.

This psychological thriller directed by Anurag
Kashyap and starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal, and Sobhita Dhulipala;

5. Tanu weds Manu Returns
(2015)
Manu’s marriage has collapsed and he has found
Tanu’s lookalike, Kusum. But has he really fallen for Kusum, or does he still

7. Queen (2013)
A comedy-drama starring Kangana Ranawat and
featuring Rajkumar Rao, this film is about a traditional girl who decides to go for her honeymoon all alone when her fiance drops the marriage plan. The

end of the movie.

8. Wazir (2016)
Wazir stars Farhan Akhtar, Amitabh
Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Any

a thrilling plot and a mind-boggling end.

10. Sonchiriya (2019)
Sonchiriya, directed by Abishek Chaubey stars Manoj
Bajpayee, Sushant Singh Rajput, Ashutosh Rana, Bhumi
Pednekar, and Ranvir Shorey. This 1975 set film is a story about a
team of Dakus from Chambal, who split when their leader dies. The film might be
an uncomfortable ride due to its gross violence and the incomprehensible
Bundelkhandi dialect, but the film surely offers remarkable performances and
stunning scenes.

ReplyDeleteWell, we have created a list of movies, that we assumed were underrated. We believe films like Uri and Kesari are quite mainstream and must have been seen by most of the people. Also, we do not intend to promote any sort of violence. These films are genuine entertainers. Although, it's quite surprising that films like Kesari and Uri seemed non-violent to you.
DeleteNumber 5,6,7 are not at all underrated. They all were commercial hits and were given an excellent reception by the Indian audience
ReplyDeleteYes, we agree that these films are commercially successful but we want these films to be seen in the light of meaningful cinema and not just as regular Bollywood popcorn film.
