COVID-19: World News and Updates

There have been a lot of things trending on the social media platform, "Instagram"! Have you not posted a picture of yourself with a caption of "Until Tomorrow"? Have you not drawn an orange and then tagged ten of your friends, insisting them to continue the trend? Have not played even one bingo? Trust me, If you have not done all this then you can call yourself a normal person. There has been a lot going on outside the social media and the world has been virtually put to a halt due to COVID-19. It's good to see people enjoying their social distancing but it becomes important that everyone has a little knowledge about what is taking place worldwide.

Today, we will just list out things which have taken place worldwide and it may have a great impact on almost every citizen of India.

1. National Lockdown

2. Olympics has been Postponed

The last time the Olympics didn’t take place at its scheduled time was way back in 1944. Before that 1940 & 1916 were the years when the Olympics couldn’t take place. Well the reason behind these was World Wars.

The news that Tokyo 2020 has been pushed back to 2021 has not only shocked billions of sports fans around the globe but has also pointed towards the fact that how big The COVID-19 crisis is. Well in my opinion it is the biggest crisis that mankind has ever seen.

3. CRPF donating their salaries to Prime Minister's National Relief Fund

The Central Reserve Police Force have unanimously agreed to donate their salary to the Relief Fund. A day's salary of the 3 lakh personnel which will amount upto Rupees 34 crore will be presented to the country's home minister. They will even be at their work during the 21 day lockdown. They certainly deserve a salute from every citizen of the country.

4. International Flights have been banned till April 14

No International Flight Operation will take place in India till April 14 due to the outbreak of the Pandemic COVID-19. The ban was initially imposed till March 31 but has been extended for a couple of weeks now.

5. The number of cases of COVID-19 has crossed 700 in India.

At the time of writing this article the cases amount to 724 with 17 deaths in India. Whereas the world count has gone above 5 lakhs, with over 24 thousand deaths.
