Sunrisers Hyderabad have been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL. They started their journey in 2013, when Deccan Chargers were terminated by the Indian Premier League. They emerged as Champions in 2016 and have failed to reach the playoffs only twice. The team's bowling line along with a stand out performer in the top order (mostly overseas) have always been appreciable. David Warner of SRH has won 3 Orange Cap awards which is highest by any player.
We are here with a series of IPL Dream Teams wherein we will be making All Time XIs of the current eight teams in IPL. During this venture, I am being assisted by Raunit Raj and Amit Vikram Singh who have immense knowledge in the field of cricket. We have gone through every player of each team and tried to pick the best of the lot after considering their statistics and performances for the team. We started with the current champions, Mumbai Indians then had a look at Kings XI Punjab and now bring to you the All Time XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
(Source: Sportswallah)*We will be only considering players who have played for Sunrisers Hyderabad from 2013-19
**Statistics of the players are only for their SRH career
1. David Warner (c)✈️ (2014- )
David Warner holds the record of highest run by a foreigner in the IPL. Warner is one of the players who consistently scores for the team. He has won three Orange Cap Awards with SRH even leading them to a title in 2016. He is a true match winner and one of the best openers in the world.
Innings: 71 Runs: 3271 Average: 55.44 S/R*: 146.87
*S/R – Strike Rate
(Source: IPLT20)2. Shikhar Dhawan (2013-18)
We have seen Dhawan and Warner building partnerships so many times. They are a formidable opening pair and can get your scoreboard ticking always. Dhawan is the highest Indian run getter for SRH scoring over 2500 runs.
Innings: 91 Runs: 2768 Average: 35.03 S/R: 125.13
(Source: IPLT20)3. Kane Williamson ✈️ (2015- )
The New Zealand Captain makes the cut above Johnny Bairstow and Moises Henriques in this team due to a couple of reasons. In 2018, SRH were without Warner but Williamson stepped up and had one of the best seasons by any batsmen. The absence of Warner wasn't felt and the team emerged as the runners up of the competition. Williamson is one of the most stable batsmen in world cricket right now. He can adapt in any format and win you games.
Innings: 41 Runs: 1302 Average: 38.29 S/R: 135.06
(Source: IPLT20)4. Manish Pandey (2018- )
Manish Pandey has been one of the important middle order batsmen in T20 for India. Though he has spent most of his IPL career at KKR and had a glorious career there, Pandey still stands out as the second highest Indian run getter for SRH by just playing 24 innings. Manish Pandey has the ability to anchor as well as pace up his innings at any point of time.
Innings: 24 Runs: 628 Average: 33.05 S/R: 123.37
(Source: IPLT20)5. Yuvraj Singh (2016-17)
Sunrisers Hyderabad have always had a problem of having a very strong middle order. Their top order always flourished, leaving the middle order a little unexposed and inexperienced. Yuvraj Singh has not the best of the numbers what a dream team player generally has, but it is better than the other players in contention. His experience even acts as a plus point and makes him find a place here.
Innings: 21 Runs: 488 Average: 27.11 S/R: 137.07
(Source: IPLT20)6. Naman Ojha (wk) (2014-17)
The fight for the wicket keeping spot was between Parthiv Patel, Naman Ojha and Wriddhiman Saha. Patel has only played a season for the Orange Army whereas Ojha looked out as a better option than Saha. It becomes important for the captain to believe in Ojha and give him confidence that he can perform.
Innings: 39 Runs: 584 Average: 19.46 S/R: 120.41
(Source: Scroll.in)7. Karn Sharma (2013-16)
The team lacked a decent Indian all rounder. We looked for options and shortlisted Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda and Karn Sharma. Sharma's statistics in batting looks better than Hooda whereas his bowling is far better than his competitors. Sharma has taken 37 wickets and scored over 300 runs for SRH.
Matches: 52 Wickets: 37 E/R*: 7.82
*E/R - Economy Rate
(Source: Starsunfolded)8. Rashid Khan ✈️ (2017- )
The leg spinner from Afghanistan has enjoyed quite a lot of success in the IPL for the Sunrisers. Rashid has a bowling average of 21 and has no competition from anybody. He even has an excellent economy rate of 6.55.
Matches: 46 Wickets: 55 E/R: 6.55
(Source: IPLT20)9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2014- )
Bhuvneshwar is one of the most successful Indian bowlers in T20 cricket. He has the highest number of wickets for the team and is a no brainer for the dream team. His ability of swinging the ball and bowling good yorkers at death is well known.
Matches: 86 Wickets: 109 E/R: 7.41
(Source: IPLT20)10. Dale Steyn ✈️ (2013-15)
Dale Steyn will combine himself with Bhuvneshwar Kumar in this dream team. Steyn's experience and his economy rate are key factors which help him to find a place in this XI above Mustafizur Rahman.
Matches: 73 Wickets: 39 E/R: 6.87
(Source: India.com)11. Siddharth Kaul (2017- )
Kaul is one of the finds of the IPL. He has bowled brilliantly for SRH and has better numbers than the likes of Ashish Nehra, Ishant Sharma, Sandeep Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed.
Matches: 34 Wickets: 43 E/R: 8.46
